We demonstrated for the first time that the toxic chemicals react with plant proteins and form protein adducts. These biomarkers are very stable and could still be detected three months after exposure, which is useful for forensic investigations. I’m grateful that we were invited to design the cover artwork, based on our publication about plants as evidence. More information about the research can be found in our publication.
